Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data StackAdvise collects, why, who processes it, and the rights you have over it. We keep data collection to the minimum a small publisher needs — in practice, that is your email address if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter.

Who runs this site (data controller)

This website, stackadvise.com, is run by StackAdvise, a sole proprietorship (eenmanszaak) operated by Ammar Radaslic and registered with the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce (KVK) under number 90574028. StackAdvise is the data controller for personal data processed through this site. For any privacy question, or to exercise any of the rights described below, contact us at info@stackadvise.com. Our postal address is set out in our Legal Notice.

What we collect, and why

Newsletter subscription

If you sign up for our newsletter, we collect the email address you enter (and any name you choose to give). We use it only to send the newsletter you asked for. Our lawful basis is your consent, which you give by submitting the form. We use a double opt-in process, so you will receive a confirmation email and are only added once you confirm. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in every email, or by emailing us — withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already happened.

The newsletter is delivered through beehiiv, Inc., based in the United States, acting as our processor. Your email is stored on their infrastructure, which means it is transferred to the US; that transfer is covered by appropriate safeguards (such as Standard Contractual Clauses). See beehiiv's own privacy terms for how they handle subscriber data on our behalf.

Hosting and server logs

Our site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel automatically processes limited technical data needed to deliver and secure the site (for example your IP address and basic request information) in short-lived server logs. Our lawful basis for this is our legitimate interest in operating a secure, functioning website.

Analytics

We use Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics tool. It gives us aggregated numbers such as page views and referrers. It does not set advertising cookies, does not build a profile of you, and does not track you across other websites.

Affiliate links

Some outbound links to the tools we review are affiliate links (they pass through a /go/ redirect on our site). When you click one and land on a partner's website, that partner or its affiliate network may set a cookie on their own domain to credit us with the referral. That happens on their site, under their privacy policy — not ours. It never costs you anything and never changes our verdicts. See our Terms and the disclosure on each review for detail.

Cookies

By default we use only what is strictly necessary (for example, remembering your cookie choice). Any non-essential cookies — such as future analytics or marketing cookies — are only ever loaded after you consent via our cookie banner. Full detail, and how to change your choice, is in our Cookie Policy.

What we don't do

We do not sell or rent your personal data. We do not share it with third parties except the processors named above (who act on our instructions), or where we are legally required to. We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.

How long we keep it

We keep your newsletter email until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it, after which it is removed from active lists. Technical server logs are kept only for the short period our host retains them.

Your rights (GDPR and beyond)

If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; have it corrected; have it erased; restrict or object to its processing; receive it in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email info@stackadvise.com and we will respond within the legal time limit.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority in your country if you believe we have handled your data unlawfully. We would appreciate the chance to resolve it directly first, but that is your right regardless.

Children

This site is aimed at people running businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site grows or the tools we use change. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
